The Five Animal Exercise is an ancient Qigong practice developed by the renowned physician Hua Tuo over two thousand years ago. It imitates the movements of five animals—the tiger, monkey, bear, deer, and crane. Each movement set is associated with and supports one of the body’s five major organ systems: the liver, heart, digestive system (spleen and stomach), kidneys, and lungs. These exercises are not only beneficial for enhancing vitality and overall health, but are also enjoyable to practice and visually engaging to observe.
