Chinese, distinct from alphabetic languages, combines character writing with a tonal spoken system. Contrary to common belief, spoken Chinese can be relatively easy to learn—it has minimal grammar and each word is a single syllable.
Learning a second language enhances communication skills, supports brain development, improves math ability, and strengthens motor coordination. Research shows that the optimal age to learn a second language is from birth to age 12.
By the end of 10 sessions, students will be able to engage in basic daily conversations, ask and answer simple questions, and build a vocabulary of approximately 200 words. Music, dance, and interactive activities make learning fun and effective.
Equipment Needed: Projector and sound system preferred
